Baked to Perfection - More Than Just A Coffee House

- Renovation & Menu Changes -

On January 2nd & 3rd, we renovated the restaurant - a whole new look !! Two days of hard work but we like it and we hope you will too !

We also took this opportunity to add New menu items and we changed a few. They are all reflected here on our web site but we are hoping you will stop in and see what you think. We've added items to our Kids Menu, brand new selections like "Deli Dogs", "Panini", "Wraps" and new entries under our Signature Sandwiches section. We also made changes to some selections under our Bakery "Cookies, Pies and Pastries".

All in all, we hope you enjoy coming and eating at Baked To Perfection and we will continue to give you all the things you ask for.

We have said this every chance we get (but it can never be enough), "Thank You Our Customers". We appreciate your patronage and we hope you will like the changes to our restaurant and our menu.

class Marbletown Festival - Ultimate Cake Challenge

On August 5th, 2011 the Marbletown Festival held a children's "Ultimate Cake Challenge" and we were lucky enough to be involved.

We did the signup at Baked To Perfection and we had a total of 55 kids for the event. It is quite evident from the accompanying picture that this was a "Spectacular" event - look at those kids - wonderful!

Not only was the turnout great, but everyone had a "creative" time - and what these kids make never ceases to amaze me - they are so-o-o-o good - and very well behaved!

Thank you kids for giving me and Stacy one of the best days ever. I Can't Wait Until Next Year!!! See you then!

Mrs. Brickner's Class Trip To Baked To Perfection -

Just before school let out for the summer, Mrs. Brickner scheduled a class trip to our bakery and restaurant. The kids walked from Delphos Jefferson High School to the restaurant to check us out.

They toured the bakery and restaurant asking a lot of good questions. Then it was decided they would decorate some cupcakes. I've included a picture here to show you the fun we were all having.

Next, they were going to eat lunch here so we let them see how their food and drinks were being prepared. After eating their lunch they enjoyed the cupcakes they made and drank some specialty coffees.

It was a GREAT time by all. We are glad you came to see us kids!!!!

Delphos St John's School Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday

On Wednesday, March 2 some students from Delphos St. John's Grade School celebrated Dr. Seuss's 107th Birthday in a unique way - and I got to be part of it.

Teacher Sr. Mary Robert Clare's sister, Sr. Rose Bernard, has served the New Guinea people since 1964. "There is a vocational school as well as a Shalom Center run by missionaries in New Guinea, " Sister Clare said.

The center also provides for HIV/AIDS patients for testing and medication.

The kids at St. Johns celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday this year by asking me to make a birthday cake which would be raffled with proceedings going to missions in New Guinea and Chimbote.

In the picture standing with me is Karen Densel. Students include front front left, Adara Fuerst, Alexis Reynolds, Alex Gerow, Mason Vonderwell and Jaelyn Church. Second grader Kaylie Kill won the cake.

This was a lot of fun for me and the kids. It made some money for the missions and I think the kids enjoyed contributing their time for this worthwhile cause.

Thanks you guys for asking me to participate.

class 2011 Winter Wedding Cake Tasting - Huge Success!

Our wedding cake tasting day was a huge success! Thank you everyone for coming and trying our cake flavors. This 2011 was the biggest and best ever.

When we opened the doors at 3:30, it didn't take long and the line of folks waiting extended back the drive all the way behind the tire store.

We've never had so many attend this event. We hope we got all your questions answered and you all got a chance to taste our cake flavors - and had a great time.

I would like to mention to all prospective Brides & Grooms that would like an appointment to discuss your wedding cake needs, we do those consultations on Sundays and Mondays only. So give us a call at 419-741-7063 to set up your appointment.

Again, thank you ever so much for attending and making the 2011 Winter Cake Tasting the best one yet. There's a picture at the right showing the crowd we had. Stacy and I just can't get over your wonderful support through the years at our bakery and restaurant. You are the best!

class After School "Cookie Class For The Kids"

The Delphos Public Library asked me if I would be interested in doing an after school program with the kids on February 8th and show them how to decorate cookies for Valentine's Day. Are you kidding - of course I would!

Around 4 PM we had 25 kids come and we had a ball! There were plenty of volunteers to help so everyone got to decorate a cookie. It is amazing how well these kids do. The cookies were beautiful and I think everyone enjoyed themselves - I know I did! I put a picture to the right of some of the fun we were having.

Alex attends "Satin Ice" rolled fondant workshop

On Tuesday October 5th, Alex and Stacy attended a special workshop in Southgate, Michigan (you're never too old learn new tricks of the trade). The all day class was taught by Jean Marie Moffa of gcakes.com.

"The class was very informative and I learned a few new tricks using rolled fondant. Also received some new fondant tools used to work with fondant. All in all, a good day. There is going to be an advanced class coming soon and I intend on being at that one too. I always say - 'never to old to learn new tricks of the trade'." -Alex

Alex, Father Mel and his sisters attend mini cake workshop

Pat

Father Mel wanted to suprise his sister Pat with a birthday cake. And it just so happened, Pat, around this same time, wanted to learn a little about how to decorate cakes. So, to accomplish this I scheduled a mini cake decorating class for Father Mel, Pat and Elaine. We spent some time learning about cake decorating and then actually decorated a cake. And guess what, the cake Pat helped decorate became her very own birthday cake. SUPRISE!!

Happy Birthday Pat!!!
